Thailand Trip
Our first update from our students on staff on their way to their life changing trip to Thailand. These camera shy lovelies are currently in transit with Mr Forster, Miss Fearns and Mrs Marriott, to give their time to the Christian Care Foundation for Children with Disabilities, learn about the care of elephants in a sanctuary, visit a Thai school and increase their knowledge and awareness of everything travel has to offer them. They will be telling us all about their adventures and how their horizons have been broadened upon their return, but, for now, we wish them safe travels and that their dreams are met with this fabulous opportunity. Sometimes you just have to brave and go for it! #oieafamily #wearegoingtomakeadifference #whathaveyoudonetoday

Year 10 Team Thailand trip sponsored by the Turing Scheme.
Day 1 – Temples and boat trips galore in Bangkok. The students have all been fantastic!
Day 2 – The floating market. Plenty of haggling going on. Did we get a bargain? Who knows?!
Day 3 – Team Thailand. Elephants!! A fantastic trip to Elephants World. A brilliant organisation. Feeding and washing retired and rescued elephants was a total privilege.
Day 3 of the Turing Scheme sponsored Y10 trip to Thailand. We visited the fantastic Wat Nuannoradit School. Our students were buddied up with Thai students had lessons in Thai culture, language, music and dance and joined in at lunch. Back to the school tomorrow for some cooking and crafts.
Day 4 – Off for a day of Thai sports and crafts at school. A good breakfast is needed!
Team Thailand Day 4 -Our student had lots of fun making traditional Thai crafts and food with their Thai school buddies.
Team Thailand Day 4 – The afternoon was spent learning about traditional Thai sports such as sword fighting and boxing. Lots of fun!
Team Thailand – Day 5. The team have had a brilliant day visiting the Christian Care Foundation, which does amazing work supporting education and inclusion for young people with special educational needs. Our Governor, Trevor Hunter is a long time supporter of the charity and it was through his links that we were able to visit. The money raised in our recent non uniform day, will support further developments at the Foundation.
Team Thailand – Day 6. The last day of our Year 10 trip was spent at the Wat Nuannoradit School, Bangkok. We visited their planetarium. It was amazing. Maybe a new use for our Gallery?!
Team Thailand. Last day! Our students said their goodbyes to their buddies at the Wat Nuannoradit School, after a tour of their local Buddhist temple. The school students and staff we’re so welcoming! What a fabulous final day.
