The study of English Language comprises the analysis and comparison of fiction and non-fiction texts from the 19th, 20th and 21st Centuries.  Students will also fine tune their craft as writers of creative and transactional pieces.

In English Literature, you will explore the ambition and destiny of the tragic Macbeth; be drawn into the investigation of a tragic death in An Inspector Calls and find out what causes the famed miser Scrooge to change his ways in A Christmas Carol.  You will also explore a range of poetry from different poets and backgrounds which consider the ways power and conflict enter and affect our lives.

Studying English prepares you to communicate effectively whilst being sensitive to the communication of others.
