Teacher Development

We are always looking to support new entrants to our profession and there are many routes in! If you are interested in training to teach, why not get in touch for an informal chat about the options available to you? We have excellent support packages and links with many external agencies so can support you to find the best way forward.

All new teachers to our academy are given a “buddy”; someone who is their ‘go to’ with any questions, challenges and day to day issues. All trainee teachers and NQTs are given a specialist mentor to support every step of the way and are enrolled on our support programmes.

For Ormiston Ilkeston Enterprise Academy, we are pleased to be working in collaboration with Nottingham University.

Teacher development at OAT

At OAT our approach to teacher development is led by The OAKS (our School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) with Keele University) and our regional hubs. Click here for more information. However, not all of our OAKS hubs currently run in all OAT regions.
