Hospitality and Catering

Hospitality and Catering allows students to develop their understanding of the hospitality and catering industry as well as developing their creativity through designing and making food products. They also gain an understanding of food science and nutrition.

Prior to completing their controlled assessment at the end of Year 11 students undertake mini projects based around subject theory.  In Year 11, students design and make a series of dishes in response to one of the design briefs supplied by the exam board as part of their coursework, which counts towards 50% of their overall mark.
