Open Evening Countdown – Learning Resources Centre

Learning Resource Centre – we are very proud of our modern, purpose-built library at OIEA. At OIEA we advocate the importance of reading for pleasure to support students with their well-being and literacy skills. The library contains a good quality range of both fiction and non-fiction books, promotes reading through initiatives such as World Book Day, and gives a free ‘Bookbuzz’ book to every year 7 student. The LRC has a large teaching-space for class visits, and computers and a printer for students to use to complete homework tasks. It is open every day and welcomes students before and after school, and during break and lunch-times. This academic term we have introduced a ‘Book and Borrow’ scheme so that if students can’t come into the LRC they can request books which will then be delivered to their classrooms. To help with book selection students can use our online catalogue, ‘Eclipse’, which is accessible on the school website.
